10 Questions to Ask Your Boudoir Photographer

Shooting a boudoir session often comes with lots of nerves and unknowns. We’ve found that a great way to make clients feel more comfortable before their session is to answer any and all questions they could possibly have!
Your boudoir photographer should be able to answer these top 10 FAQ’s when you’re booking your session!
01. How much is a boudoir session?
We split our boudoir session cost into two parts: a session fee + the image collection of your choice. All of our clients get full pricing information before deciding if they’d like to book. No surprises here!
02. Do you edit all of my boudoir images?
Yes, we retouch all of the selected images from your boudoir session! Although, we aren’t advocates for manipulating your size or shape. We’re looking to capture you as you are – which is a total bombshell! We focus on removing non-permanent obstructions like blemishes, fly-away hairs, etc. If you’re hoping to make any edit adjustments in specific, you’ll be able to let us know before + after the editing process!
03. Should I go tanning?
No spray tans 4-6 weeks prior to your session or tanning beds 2-3 weeks before your session! It will give your skin a funny tint we can’t easily correct.
04. Where are you located?
Our permanent studio is located in Downtown Vacaville, CA. All of our boudoir sessions are shot in our beautiful downtown studio on our second-floor Boudoir Loft.
05. How do I prepare for my boudoir session?
We will send you our Boudoir Welcome Guide after you book your session with us! The guide will be packed with recommendations on how to prepare in the weeks leading up to your session. Come session day, arrive with a clean face and clean + dry hair, get lots of sleep and stay hydrated!
06. Are you going to share my boudoir images?
You decide if we can or cannot share your images. We will never share your images without your permission!
07. When will I see my images?
You will see your images immediately after your session! Following your shoot + a quick coffee break, you’ll be invited back to the studio for your same-day viewing session. This is the big reveal and chance for you to choose all of your favorite photos!
08. What do I need to bring to my boudoir session?
You are more than welcome to bring your own lingerie and accessories to your session if you’d like! You’ll be able to go over any extra props with your photographer during your session planning call. Otherwise, we’ll have everything you need here at the studio on your session day! Lingerie? Got it. Hair + makeup products/tools? Covered. Snacks and drink? We’ve got those too.
09. Can I bring a friend?
We do not allow plus-ones during the shooting or viewing portions of the session. Our shooting sets only allow room for you, your photographer, and hair + makeup artist. We want you to feel free to “wild out” and not worry about who is watching. We have tons of reviews and a strong online community that will can assure you – you are safe here!
10. When should I book my boudoir session?
We recommend calling in at least 1-2 months before your desired session date. This will ensure that you have time to clear your calendar for your shoot day! Plus, it gives you more time to set up a pre-session payment plan and earn bonuses for your session (additional outfits, exclusive sets, etc.)!
